LGBTQ+ American Authors Map II

For this original map that we created together with artist Luis Francisco Lorenzo, we used various typographic fonts adapted to the contours of the map. This map is a work of art and does not aim to be representative of all LGBTQ+ writers in the United States. As much as we wanted to include all LGBTQ+ authors we love in this map, there wasn’t enough space, so we had to make some difficult decisions on whom to include and whom to leave out. We chose to organize the names of the writers by the state they were born in, but in some cases we had to take our best guess. We tried to be as inclusive as possible for all groups and genders, as well as cover both classic and contemporary, famous and emerging writers. Some of the authors you will find on the map lived before it was socially and/or legally acceptable to be open about their sexual orientation, and they may not have been considered as LGBTQ+ writers during their lifetime. There are some whose sexual orientation is still debated by researchers today. Although most of the authors on the map have written about LGBTQ+ themes or issues, some of them do not write LGBTQ+ literature.If you discover a few authors on this map that you were not familiar with and, better still, read their works, we will know this map has served its purpose!"

MATERIAL
Our maps are printed on heavy stock paper with a matte finish, using museum grade paper, known to be archival, which means it can be stored for a long time without turning yellow.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Posters can be hung with double-sided tape, tacks, or framed.
If the poster gathers any dust, you may wipe it off gently with a clean, dry cloth.

This product is printed and shipped out from one of our USA-based print providers. At the moment, we only ship in the United States.

Returns and Exchanges

All our items are made-to-order just for you! Because of this, we’re unable to accept returns or exchanges unless the product arrives damaged or defective.

Damaged Items 

In case you receive a damaged product or one with some printing error, we´ll gladly send a replacement at no cost to you. 

Exchange requests must be made within 30 days of the purchase.

If a product arrives damaged, please send a photo of the damaged product to hello@quotesandcompany.com, and we will review the request and determine if a refund or exchange will be given.
